Thematic Areas

These pages are devoted to the thematic areas that are covered by the LRC. Each page provides a brief introduction and reference to PLOW (DFID Professional Development for Livelihoods Advisers Website) material. PLOW was developed for DFID by the Programme of Advisory Support Services (PASS the predecessor to LRC).
Each page also contains resources from work commissioned through the LRC and any other relevant material and links that have been recommended for inclusion.
It is recognised that these thematic areas are rarely unaffected by external factors such a climate change or political stability. The LRC understands how these factors can affect livelihoods and a separate page devoted to cross cutting issues has been included.
