Services

The Livelihoods Resource Centre has two main functions:

Core Services

Tailored information services to facilitate knowledge sharing within DFID and externally among the national and international development community. Core services provide:

  • Access to current thinking, research and training available on rural development and livelihoods. This is linked to our core themes identified by DFID.
  • An Organisations Database listing organisations and institutions from around the world that are active on relevant livelihood issues.
  • A Training and Events page that lists current and relevant events to support professional development.
  • An eBulletin page that highlights lessons and experience gained from work commissioned through the LRC and other relevant work.

All of our core services are available through this website.

Commissioned Services

Available to DFID only. Through a framework agreement with DFID the LRC is able to identify and contract consultants to undertake specific assignments, research, training or other activities that support knowledge and enhance learning. The LRC is also able to organise events and conferences, assist with professional development and disseminate learning direct from DFID either internally or externally to reach a wider audience. Specialist knowledge management services are available through the LRC to assist with this.
