WABEKBON Development Consultants (WDC), which is now registered as a private limited company, is upgraded from its former WIBD Consult that established in 1998 in Ethiopia. WDC has been registered at the then Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and at Ethiopian Management Institute. WDC has a team of highly qualified and experienced staff and associate consultants having Ph.D., M.A., and M. Sc. Degrees. The staff and associate consultants have further specialized in specific disciplines, through short trainings, workshops, and seminars. During the period from 1998 to end of 2005, WIBD Consult has provided consultancy services for various multilateral and bilateral organizations such as JICA, SNV, GTZ, CIDA, SIDA, USAID, IFAD, and the World Bank under the direction of its Managing Director, Mr. Kejela Gemtessa, who is a M.Sc. in Development Economics. WABEKBON Consult, which is now registered as PLC, has also provided consultancy services for government organizations such as Pastoral Community Development Project under the Ministry of Federal Affairs, Oromia Water Resources Bureau, Amhara Women Affairs Bureau, and Benishangul Gumuz Food Security Office. WDC has also provided expert service for Tearfund, EOC/DICAC, WINROCK International Ethiopia, ECFE, AEMFI, CONCERN, Oxfam Canada, CISP, IIRR, SCF/UK, GOAL, ACORD, LWF, EECMY, WATERAID, ECS-SADCO, PLAN International, DIA, SCF/USA, and several other indigenous and international NGOs. WDC has successfully carried out contracts and professional assignments awarded by international clients in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Somaliland.

For over thirty years, WEDC has continually stressed the importance of employing appropriate technology to provide good services for low-income communities. Women In Sustainable Enterprise Development (WISE) is a global network of independent consultants, mainly women, specialising in enterprise, institutional and social development. WRAPA is a registered rights based not for profit, charitable membership organization founded in 1999. Activities include free legal aid/counselling services, skills training, mobilization, sensitization and advocacy for legal reforms. In pursuance of its vision for enhancing access to justice for women WRAPA supports litigation for women within Nigeri’s three legal systems with the support of volunteers in all the 36 states. Funding sources include membership dues, investments and programme support from individuals, government, development partners and corporate bodies. WRAPA has affected the lives of over 3500 women and families and works for reforms in policy and practice in the administration of justice in Nigeria.
