Welcome to the Livelihoods Resource Centre

The Livelihoods Resource Centre (LRC) is a knowledge portal for information and services dedicated to rural development and rural and urban livelihoods. The LRC was established by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) in July 2007.

Our purpose is to provide advice, knowledge management and technical services on demand to DFID and the wider development community. We are the successor to the Programme of Advisory and Support Services (PASS).

This website provides access to:

  • Reports and synthesised outputs from work commissioned by DFID through the LRC Framework Agreement.
  • Searches of other relevant livelihoods resources.
  • Searchable databases covering training, events and organisations and institutions that are actively supporting livelihoods work around the world.
  • Information on core LRC themes from agriculture and natural resources through to non-farm income, food security and vulnerability.

By signing up to the eBulletin, visitors can have the latest livelihoods news delivered direct to their Inbox. DFID advisers can use the website to contact the LRC to access our commissioned services.

All information provided on our site complements other DFID Resource Centres and knowledge and research portals.
