Welcome to the Livelihoods Resource Centre (LRC)

We work for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to provide information and services dedicated to rural development and rural and urban livelihoods.

Our website provides:

  • Resources on livelihoods related issues from agriculture and natural resources through to non-farm income, food security and vulnerability.
  • Reports and outputs from work commissioned by DFID through the LRC.
  • Quick searches and links to other relevant livelihoods resources, events and organisations and institutions that are actively supporting livelihoods work around the world.
  • A quick guide for DFID Advisers on how to commission: reviews, design work, studies, evalutions or any other pieces of work through the LRC Framework Agreement.

The LRC is also part of the Climate Change Desk in association with two other DFID Resource Centres, DEW Point and TI-UP. It provides a 'one stop service' for commissioned climate change related work and can be accessed by email: climatechangeadvice@htspe.com or telephone +44 (0) 1442 385393.
